Picasa Web Albums

Picassa Web Albums is another great software from Google. It allows you to quickly and easily post pictures to a webpage. You don't even have to worry about hosting (there is 1 GB of space and still counting!), webdesign. It's already there. With Picassa web albums you can create your own picture gallery within minutes.

Uploading and sharing photos with Picassa is easy!

Step 1. In Picassa, Select the photo(s) to upload.
Step 2. Click Web Album , name your album and adjust privacy settings.
Step 3. When the upload is finished click View Online . Your web album will open.

Google Picassa update:

•Philipp Lenssen reports that you can upload your videos to Google's Picasa web albums if you wanted to. Philipp links to this sample video of a kid doing chin ups . As an FYI, you can now upload videos to Google Video, YouTube (soon to be owned by Google) and now Google's Picasa. Options, options and more options -- too much?

•Search engine giant Google has finally launched the final edition of their Picassa 2.5 application. The final update features a couple of new features, which include:

* Sharing photos online though Picasa web albums
* Choose how folders are displayed in Picasa, though a nested folder view, or date view.
* Importing photos into an existing folder.
* Choose between four presentation views for screensavers.
* Tell Picasa where you shot each photo, and geotagging ads some nice integration with Google Earth. * KMZ files can be exported and shared with others.
* Thumbnails appear larger and clearer.
* RAW formats and more camera models are supported.
* Caption editing has been updated.
* Starred photos get organized into a special album.
* Buttons can be configured to the user's specifications.
